Happy Father's Day!

Laura

This was an exciting weekend for one of my best friends, Laura. She and I have been friends since we were 10. I love our friendship, she is more like another sister to me than just a really good friend. This weekend we went up to a bbq competition at the Snowbird resort on Friday to celebrate that she would be going through the temple for her endowments the following day. It was nice to drive up the canyon and have yummy pulled pork sandwiches. On Saturday, we went to the Provo temple to share that milestone with her. I was a little aprehensive about going to the temple at 40 weeks since Kamila could come at any minute. Could you imagine?! I would be mortified if my water were to break at the temple! Luckily this little girl seems to love my womb and has no intention of coming early or on time, apparently. It was a very sweet feeling to be there with Laura. Im so grateful for friends like her and for temples.

Carnival Date

We had our annual date with the Telford's to the Orem fair and it was so much fun. The weather was great, there was all sorts of yummy food, lots of booths with cute crafts and things for sale, and games. This year I obviously could not get on the rides I did last year, but my friend Heather proposed going on the potato sack slide. I was a little hesitant at first since I felt like I was not ready to have this baby quite yet (I am nesting BIG time..it is ridiculous. I still don't feel like I am ready for Kamila to come home because I don't have her armoire in the nursery yet nor do I have a diaper bag.....Oy Vey. I know). I figured if I had survived being on Papa's boat on a very choppy Lake Powell just a few weeks ago, then I would be just fine on the slide. Well, it was sooo much fun! Our faces as we are coming down are hilarious!! The best part was watching people's reactions as they watched these two very pregnant women finish the ride. Heather is also still pregnant so maybe we could have done that a couple more times :)

P.S.-the more pregnant I am, the less photogenic I become! :(

Price Family Baby Shower

Last week the aunts and cousins threw a baby shower for me. Like always, they had the best food and most importantly, the best company. I feel so lucky to be a part of their family, they all have made me feel right at home since day one. Thank you Angelle, Katie, and Aunt JoAnne for being the coordinatoors, Aunt Nancy for sharing her beautiful home with us, and to all the Smart girls (Aunt Julie included) for making this a memorable event and for always making me feel appreciated and loved. I love you all!

Anniversary Weekend

Chip loved that all the pictures in the men's bathroom had some sort of water fountain. Very appropriate!

Chip surprised me once again for our anniversary (he always comes up with something very thoughtful and creative for special occasions). While at work that morning, he text me and told me to pack some things because we would be out that night and not coming home. I didn't make any inquiries as to where or what we would be doing because I know better..this meant that he had another surprise up his sleeve. I love that he does this!

Chip came home from work, we hopped in the car and drove to Salt Lake. I really had no idea where we were going until we came to very close proximity to our destination: Castle Creek Inn! We spent our wedding night at this bed and breakfast which is very elegant, romantic and quaint. Needless to say I was a very happy and excited girl! We cheked in and headed out for dinner. That was my part of the evening planning and decided to take Chip to Buca di Beppo. I had been there once and liked the food and also because I wanted him to see the creepy Pope John Paul II head that spins in the middle of a table. Unfortunately, you have to have a party of at least 11 people to sit at the creepy table so we were seated elsewhere (and forgot to take a picture of the dang thing!). Anyway, we enjoyed our dinner and our waiter was awesome. He asked me questions about my pregnancy and the baby and right after dinner he brought over a yummy cake on the house "to congratulate me and to calm dad's nerves." It was really cute.

The next day we woke up "late" (9:00..Chip usually is up by 6:15), had yummy breakfast at the Inn and headed for the State Capitol. Chip had never been inside so we toured it and looked at the murals. Then we grabbed lunch at Gandolfo's and headed to Liberty Park where we had planned to rent a paddleboat (there is a huge pond with ducks) but it was closed so we went to the Tracy Aviary. We fed ducks, swans, and pellicans mostly. The highlight was watching a Kookabeara eat a mouse. I'll spare the details so that you can watch for yourself. It was definitely entertaining! Cheers to many more days like these to come. I love you Chip!

Two Years Ago...

..I married my best friend in the Salt Lake Temple. It's hard to believe that 2 years have already flown by. I still feel like it was only yesterday. Actually, it feels like I met him only yesterday. We had been exchanging emails and phone calls for about 2 months when we finally met each other. It was Conference weekend in April 2006 and some friends and I came up for a couple of days. Chip originally had invited me out to dinner but we ended up going to the Malt Shoppe with my friends (this is the very condensed version, and MY version- Chip's is way more interesting!) because I was too nervous to be one-on-one date. I remember exactly the outfit he had on (and I am not the kind of person to remember or notice what people wear, I promise), the smell of the cologne he was wearing and knowing at the moment he first hugged me that this boy was here to stay. I'm not trying to be sappy or corny. I knew that night that he was the one for me. I don't think I have ever been so nervous as I was around him that night. My friends immediately gave their approval and we all had a great time. The day after we had our second date and I kissed him because I thought he wasn't going to and that was that. We did the long-distance thing from April to August, I moved up to Utah, dated for 7 more months, he FINALLY proposed, and we were married 2 months later. Each day only gets better. Chipper, I adore you and love being your wife. Thanks for asking!

Memorial Day

For Memorial Day weekend we met up with my in-laws and brother-in-law and his family in Page, Arizona. The weather wasn't the best but being on Lake Powell is always nice. It's so beautiful, I love it.
Originally Chip and I were thinking that it would be best if i didn't get on Papa's boat at all since I am (or was at the time) 36 weeks along and those killer bumps could send me into labor. However, once we got there, Brigitte (my sister-in-law) was persuaded to bring aboard little Danni (6 weeks old) and I knew that this was my chance to tough it up. If Brig could do that, then I definitely could get on the boat too! Surprinsingly, our multiple rides on the boat went very well. This little girl is going to be just like her daddy, a complete daredevil and fearless. I can feel it. She was such a good baby. I think the motion was soothing and she didn't move at all for a while that it even scared me. Once we were back on land I told Chip that I was scared that I hadn't felt her in what seemed to be a long time (she's usually pretty active during the day and extremely mellow at night). After a little prayer and feeling like the worst mother-to-be, she started kicking and punching like her normal self to my relief.
The boys did a lot of wakeboarding and found boulders to jump off of into the water. Chip and Dad got to go exploring Antelope Canyon which they loved! Thanks again Mom and Dad for a great weekend!
