One More Year

Well, looks like we get to stay in lovely arctic Utah for another year. We are a little bummed but are trying our hardest to be positive and look at the bright side...after all, there are some things we would miss about happy valley. We were so ready to pack our bags and move to Arizona, but I know that Heavenly Father must have a very good reason for delaying that step for now. So, I will continue to go to UVU and Chip will be graduating this summer. Hopefully we will be able to move to Phoenix by next fall, I've got a bad itch for being in warm weather with our family and friends, not to mention that I would only be 6 hours driving time from my parents. Oh well, things happen for a reason, right?!

Hike to Bridal Veil

We have been enjoying our spring afternoons very much. Today I came home from work and then ran some errands with Chip. Just as we were headed to the gym, Chip had a bright idea. With beautiful weather like this, (in the high 70's, cause for celebration!!) why not take exercise outdoors?! So he proposed that we take an afternoon hike up to Bridal Veil Waterfall in Provo Canyon. I have to admit that I am the typical girly-girl wuss that is reluctant to do outdoor stuff like this. But I was definitely enjoying this hike! It is beautiful up there. The view atop is gorgeous and the actual site of the waterfall is beautiful. What a wonderful world we live in. What is also remarkable to me is to know how much influence someone you love and admire can have on your life. I love that my husband encourages me to be a better person by learning to take on new experiences and to put aside my fears. I never thought I would enjoy hiking or rock climbing, etc, but he definitely brings out the best that I have in me and pushes me to be aware of my potential. He is so amazing.

Isn't he cute?

I just had to post this picture. I love how photogenic Chip is. He is such a cutie. This was taken at my friend Pam's wedding last night. It is so neat to share these events with great friends. Needless to say that Chip was loving all the attention he gets from the clan when he is being goofy!! We all had a great time!

Grateful

This morning I woke up feeling a little more emotional than normal. I love mornings, I love waking up and opening up the curtains which reveal the beautiful mountains here in Provo. I love the smell of the sunrise, if that makes any sense. But my favorite part is talking to Chip and scratching his back at the same time as an attempt to get him out of bed. I love him so much, and lately I keep imagining what life would be like without him. I personally know a woman who lost her husband and one of her boys in a car accident. She was driving and fell asleep at the wheel while everyone else was already asleep. The car tumbled down the mountain that they were on and the car eventually caught fire with her husband and son in it. It is a tragic story, but there is a point in me telling it. She was very sad, as expected, but she kept her faith strong and won't let herself fall in depression. She knows that she will be with her sweetheart again, and she lives for that day. Whenever I think of her, I am always reminded of how blessed I am. I don't know how I would be able to go on without Chip. Im very grateful for him and for the temple ordinances that bind us. I am grateful for my family, in-laws, extended family, and friends.
You might be wondering where this all came from. Well, i have a simple answer: music. There is just something about what a melody does to me. I really do feel that my deepest appreciation for Heavenly Father and for the life he has allowed me to have are inspired through music. I hope you will take the time to find at least a couple of songs that will mean this much to you.

Spring Break!

OK, so I stole these pics from my sis-in-law's blog. She is so cute, I love her! She really is like another of my sisters. These were taken during our spring break in Phoenix, which was SO much fun. We got to go to a White Socks game, wakeboarding on Dad's boat (family tradition), spend time with the Price clan and with my family! We went to the Easter pageant together (last time we went I was probably about 8 or 9, and I must say that I was very pleased to see that there were NO protestors! It is really sad (and annoying) to see how these people waste their time standing around the temple with their false signs. Anyway, I will put some pictures of the pageant up as well.

Hubby Trivia :)

What is his name? Christopher Woodruff Price Tousley (his mom deserves credit too you know!)

How long have you been married? 6 days shy from our 11 month mark!

How long did you date? a year and 2 months

How old is he? 29

Who said "I love you first?" He did!! I won't reveal the way he did, it may embarass him

Who is taller? Umm...i think 5"11' is taller than 5"1', right??

Who eats more sweets? I do! I am the sweet queen! He is definitely a chocolate person though.. I am not really a chocolate lover, although i do LOVE his B.T.S. cake!

Who can sing better? He says I do...But i think he has a lovely voice when he isn't trying to convert hymns into "dirge" songs

Who is smarter? Well, I believe Chippy is BRILLIANT. Im always amazed at how much knowledge he has about so many things in all different areas. I also love the way he can elaborate on these subjects, he always sounds like an expert on it.

Who does the laundry? This one is entirely my decision. I'm really picky about laundry, so in order to avoid being miffed about laundry, I do it myself :)

Who pays the bills? We both do, although he has the more fun jobs it seems!

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? I do. I have this weird fobia with the side that is closer to the door. I feel like it is the "unsafer" side of the bed, and therefore Chip gets that side.

Who mows the lawn? Chipster, OF COURSE! Do you really see ME mowing the lawn?? I don't think so.

Who cooks dinner? Again, Chippy. He is an awesome husband AND cook. I come home at 7, so he usually has dinner ready by the time im home.

Who drives? I consider myself to be a dang good driver (for a girl--as Chip puts it) but my driving still makes him nervous, so when we are together he drives.

Who is more stubborn? He is...and he will agree....I think.

Who kissed who first? I kissed him. I had to! It was on our second date, I was up visiting in Utah and leaving back to Texas the following day. Chip was being a total chicken and I knew that if I wanted a chance for this to work, I had to kiss him! SO i did.

Who proposed? First of all, I would NEVER be the one to propose. That is strictly a man's job. Chip proposed at the top of the JSB in Temple Square. It was the most romantic experience ever.

Who has more siblings? No one! We both have 4 kids in our family.

Now that you know a little more about us, let us into your "coupledom" and post your answers to these questions!!

Summer is here!

It smells like Summer! Even though it definitely is not looking like it here in Utah :( ! Today was our last day of finals and we are so excited for vacation time. We will be having a family vacation in California in July and then we will be sending off my little brother to his mission sometime after, so hopefully we will be able to swing by Texas for his farewell. That's all my news, folks! Ill keep you posted :)
